Lately, these have been my dance partnersI've been spending lots of time behind the shovel, getting these new raised beds filledAnd ready for planting. DH brought me 5 skid steer loads of dirtAnd 3 tubs of horse manureWe didn't want to collapse the center supports so that's why he didn't dump the dirt directly into the beds. I filled 1 bed and it took A LOT of shoveling and it reminded me

If your husband, without you ever even asking, scoops up horse manure every few days and fills 3 mineral tubs, and hauls it to your garden beds and you think it's romantic.

To my delight, this little bulb pushed up in my back garden yesterday: A pink Rain Lily aka Zephyranthes Minuta
and between its fragile beauty and a very desirable rain, out poured Haiku Poetry No. 13:

We are rapidly nearing an end to our revisit In the Garden. It has been fun for us to study these blocks again, with fond memories of teaching these classes. As things are beginning to open up post-pandemic, we look forward to teaching at shops and guilds again! I (Teri) had such fun stitching this one, as the wheelbarrow is filled with many of my favorite flowers; we hope you enjoy it as well. And remember, the printed pattern with ribbon is 10% off this week, using the promo code WHEELBARROW.

Happy Friday one and all:
read moreSpring is waning and summer is near. Porches are bedecked with hanging flower pots brimming with blooms, and among my (Teri's) favorites is the fuchsia. Having all theses blues on hand, I was inspired by the Sugaridoo quiltalong (the one in which I didn't participate) and the Marston/Jones Free Range Triangle Quilts....particularly page 88 showing free range triangles designed and made by Joanne Salz.
Totally improv triangles with a few 9-patch and churn dash blocks for variety. I had to add a few filler strips to get the columns sewn ...
After the crew pulled out on Saturday, I set to putting everything back in order. I sweep every day, but my floor needed a good washing/steaming and I felt better after the stove had been scrubbed. That allowed me to kick back a little on Sunday. DH still saddled up at 7:30 and headed north to look for a sick calf he'd spotted when they were moving some cattle yesterday: Sometimes I fuss to
